Some people like the very shiny look on the pavers and this can be acquired with the application of solvent base sealer. However if this kind of sealer is not well applied can be disastrous. When the humid sand under the pavers start to dry the wather evaporates and hits the sealer on the surface, since water and oil (solvent) do not mix lots of white or hazy spots starts to appear.

Our process to fix this is: Remove up to 80% of the old sealer with chemicals and power wash. Sometimes this process needs to be repeated 2 or 3 times. Apply 1 or 2 coats of our water base sealer wet-look.

Mildew, Mold and Weeds

Mold and mildew are very common on brick pavers due to the humidity and absence of sunlight. Weeds grow from inside the pavers joints because seeds are dropped there, and sometimes they even grow from under the pavers.

Our cleaning process includes spreading chemicals when needed and power washing the residues. Although our process is very efficient we can not guarantee they won’t come back. So a regular maintenance is recommended.

Paver Efflorescence

Efflorescence is a white, powdery substance that can appear on the surface of masonry, concrete, or brick structures. It occurs when water moves through the material, dissolving salts within it. When the water evaporates on the surface, it leaves behind these salt deposits. Please keep in mind that although we do our best to clean the efflorescence, even with the use of chemicals, the process is not 100% guaranteed. Some of these stains might be already impregnated on the pavers and in other cases they can reappear.
